Software
Blogger - One of the simplest,
yet powerful totally web based blog publishing services for
new authors operated by Google. Zubrcom fully supports
Blogger's remote publishing functionality.
Blogging, Aprox. Pageviews
- The aproximate number of individual pageviews that can be
served under the plan. A pageview is defined as individual
page being presented to the browser. The number is based on
the assumption that the average blog page is around 50 Kb.
Hotlink Protection, Hotlink Convergence,
ZubrWebGuard - Hotlinking is what happens when someone
without your permission includes a file that typically
contains a video, movie or sound physically stored on your
account into their website. Typically whoever hotlinks to
you, is not sending you the visitors, rather their visitors
that stay on their website get the file from your account.
They get the benefits, you get the bill. ZubrWebGuard
Hotlink Protection allows you to restrict access to files on
your website requiring users to visit a specific page before
being able to access a protected file. Finally, the
ZubrWebGuard Hotlink Convergence adds another layer on the
top of the Hotlink Protection, redirecting the unauthorized
users to the page you want them to see.
MovableType - Advanced Web-based
content management system developed and marketed by
SixApart. MovableType has extensive support for templates,
skins, extensible API, support for multiple authors for a
single blog, multiple blogs, integrated comments and
track back, etc. MovableType is a fully supported optional
feature on all Zubrcom's bloghosting packages.
SSH, Secure Shell, SFTP, Secure FTP -
A program suit that provides secure, encrypted remote access
and file transfer capabilities over the Internet. Unlike
traditional telnet or ftp programs, SSH and SFTP programs
rely on public key encryption for key transmissions and
straight end-to-end encryption for data, making it nearly
impossible for someone to either eavesdrop on the data being
sent or received or intercept login/password combinations
to access the account.
SSL, Secure Website - SSL, a Secure
Socket Layer, is a protocol designed to transmit data
securely over the Internet. When a web browser talks to a
webserver over an SSL protected connection sensitive
information such as credit card numbers, account numbers or
order data is protected from prying eyes. SSL works by using
a private key to encrypt the data that is transferred using
SSL connection. Most of the modern Internet browsers,
including Internet Exlorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox,
Opera and Safari support SSL. By convention, URLs that
require SSL protection start with https:
instead of http:. If you would like to
protect your website using SSL, you need to have SSL
certificate installed on the server servicing your website.
All Zubrcom servers can utilize such certificates.
WordPress - Open-source
Web-based Content Management System/Blogging software. It
supports all the standard content management features from
templates and skins to comments, trackbacks and multiple
authors. WordPress comes pre-configured with all Zubrcom
